Press Brake Operator

Summary: Performs a wide variety of press brake operations usually on steel, stainless steel, or aluminum.
Must be able to work any shift.

Essential Duties:

  • Operate and maintain machinery in press brake department
  • Form parts to customer specifications
  • Basic understanding of blueprint symbols and terminology
  • Perform work within acceptable quality and productive standards
  • Work with a minimum of supervision
  • Communicate status of “work in progress” with supervisor and/or co-worker
  • Maintain work area in a neat and organized manner

Laser Operator

Setup and operate multi-axis CNC laser performing hole drilling, trimming, and slotting and general sheet metal cutting operations. Position tooling on machine table and make measurements and adjustments to index tool into position. Set machine controls and run machine according to latest program disk. Inspect for dimensional integrity using various inspection devices and performing adjustments as necessary. provide programming for less complex parts. Provide routine laser maintenance such as lens replacement, tip replacement, flash lamp replacement, cleaning of mechanical motion system and general maintenance. Detect faulty processes and provide input for their resolution. Check required dimensions using calipers, micrometers, height gages and other inspection devices. Demonstrate proper and safe operation of equipment and personal protective equipment including, but not limited to, laser safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves as required. Responsible for ensuring proper documentation is entered on manufacturing planning and paperless timecard system.

Must be able to read and understand manufacturing planning, engineering blueprints, and sketches including true position dimensioning and complex views. Knowledge of shop math and precision measurement equipment is required. Requires good attendance, effective communication skills, ability to work any shift.
